Management Team


Managing Director: Aiden Lee

Aiden Lee

Aiden is the founding member of Eolas International. He is a qualified Food Scientist with over 15 years experience in the Food and Beverage industry. Aiden provides the strategic vision for the company and leads our business development as well as playing an active role in key projects. Aiden recently completed an Enterprise Ireland funded MSc in International Business in Trinity College Dublin, and is leading plans for the further development of the company. Aiden says "It has been a fantastic experience to have been involved in the development of a unique, progressive and innovative company, such as Eolas International. The combination of very talented, eager and motivated staff in conjunction with progressive and forward looking clients, places us in a very fortunate and exciting position as we continue to grow our business. It is our mission to become the unquestioned choice as partner for our clients varied research needs".

CEO: John Downes

John Downes

Born and raised in Kerry, John is a graduate of the Engineering school in UCD. He began his professional life in the UK, working as a systems engineer with Electronic Data Systems. He soon spread his wings within this company, engaging as a project manager in Scotland, Belgium and Switzerland. After 7 years, John joined IBM, based in Dublin and working primarily for clients in the financial sector. In 2002, John brought his extensive project management experience with him to Cork. He co-founded Eolas International with Aiden Lee to capitalize on the opportunities provided by the need for innovative market research in the food and drink industry. He has overseen the operational growth of the company, and still immerses himself in projects, particularly in the market research and quality audit arenas. John says "We have fostered a culture of continuous learning in this company. Our team is encouraged to innovate and to act intuitively and this is applied to all projects. This results in clients telling us that they are excited by our solutions and that is a huge compliment."

Operations Manager: Dave Dilloughery

Involved in the FMCG sector for over 20 years. From 2001 until 2009, Dave was a member of the Executive Board at Scottish & Newcastle’s Irish Operation, Beamish & Crawford. “As part of the senior management team, I gained a holistic view of the company’s operations and was comfortable with every aspect of the operation of the Business”. A qualified IT professional, he headed up the Irish IT function for S&N as well as operating as a member of the Global IT Management team. Prior to joining Eolas, Dave has advised a number of Companies on their IT strategy.

Since Joining Eolas, Dave has been involved in Project Management and developing an online reporting strategy to support the varied client base. Dave says, “As Eolas look to grow the business globally, we will strive to have the best systems and processes in place to support this.”
  


International Market Research Team

Research Project Manager: Neil Casey

Neil CaseyBorn and raised in Cork, Neil holds a BSc. in Computer Science from University College Cork. Neil has over 15 years experience in project management and before joining Eolas International worked in Product Support/Development in EMC.

Presently, Neil manages Eolas International's growing shopper network, which spans over 100 countries and looks after all of the company's IT needs. During his 10 years with Eolas International Neil has managed product retrieval and analysis projects across the Eolas client portfolio.

International Market Research Manager: Cian Long

Cian

Cian holds a BBS in Marketing and a MBS in Marketing Research. He began his professional life as a Lecturer in the Cork Institute of Technology. He also worked privately as a research consultant for some of Irelands leading food companies. Since joining Eolas International, Cian has worked globally conducting new audits and forging new international relationships. He is now based with the Eolas team in Cork where he has taken the role of project manager within the international sector. Here he develops quality audits for global based projects; trains and manages research staff in the quality analysis process and completes client reports with the Data Management team.

Cian says “Our aim is to grow & develop the company and ensure our clients receive the best possible product we can provide – and I think we are achieving this.”


Research Project Manager & Sensory Analyst: Suzanne Detzner

Suzanne Detzner

A German native, Suzanne Detzner holds a MBS in Food Marketing from University College Cork and a Degree (Hons.) in International Business from the International School of Management in Dortmund, Germany. Suzanne is working in the area of international market & consumer research as well as sensory analysis projects. She manages cross functional projects (consumer research / quality audits & sensory analysis) and synthesizes the results. Prior to joining Eolas International, Suzanne worked within Marketing in SWS Marketing Services, University College Cork and BBDO Dusseldorf.

Suzanne says: "I always wanted to work for a truly international and multifaceted company - and Eolas is exactly that. We are all driven by giving our clients the best but at the same time we all have different areas of expertise and the combination makes us different. It is an exciting place to work."

 

Consumer & Sensory Research Team

Sensory & Laboratory Analyst: Eamonn Scollard

Eamonn

Eamonn holds a BSc. in Food Science and Technology and a MSc in Food Science and Technology. He has over 10 years experience in the food industry. Before joining Eolas International, Eamonn worked as a Production Supervisor with Dairygold and a Product Development Technologist in the area of fats and oils with Kerry Foods in Charleville.

Presently, Eamonn is part of the Laboratory team at Eolas International and manages the Print Quality Program for a major Multinational client. 


Sensory & Laboratory Analyst: Jovita Cerneckiene

Jovita

Jovita is a Lithuanian Native with over 8 years experience in the food industry. She holds a BSc and a MSc in Chemical Engineering specializing in Food Chemistry and Technology from the Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania, part of which was completed under the Erasmus/Socrates Program while studying at Vienna University of Agricultural Science, Austria .
Before joining Eolas International Research in 2007, Jovita worked as a Food Technologist in the Nuts and Candy area, with involvement in Quality Control, Technological Process Control and New Product Development.
At Eolas International Research, Jovita is responsible for the daily laboratory testing, running and reporting of sensory panels as part of an ongoing quality control/assurance programme on behalf of a client. Jovita is also involved in additional ad hoc projects such as product matching and product benchmarking across a range of products.

Jovita says: “I really enjoy working with such a young and ambitious team. Working with a globally positioned company allows me to work with Multinational Companies on a daily basis.”


Product Retrieval Team

Killian O'Neill

Killian Killian holds a Commerce degree from University College Cork. With a background in sales and marketing he joined Eolas in 2009 as a member of the product retrieval team.

Currently, Killian is responsible for sample management as part of a global product retrieval program. He is also involved in the recruitment, training and management of the Eolas researcher network. In addition, Killian coordinates a global water testing program on behalf of a major multinational client.

Michael Burke

Michael BurkeA native of Cork, Michael holds a Joint Honours BA degree from UCC in English and Philosophy. His background professionally is retail, sales, marketing and banking, working in local, national and international companies throughout these sectors.

Michael joined Eolas International in April 2013, and is currently working as part of the Global Product Retrieval team. Within this role he works closely with one of the world's leading multinational companies, assisting with their product retrieval and lab analysis projects on a daily basis.

 

Data Manager: Brian Froggatt

Brian holds a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from University College Cork. He has over 12 years experience working in the Business Intelligence and Data Manager roles. He has worked with large multinationals such as Apple Computers and EMC. He has also worked in a consultant role for Version 1, Ireland’s IT leading Consulting and Managed Services Company. Brian is responsible for the Database and Reporting systems in Eolas ensuring that we can deliver user friendly and scalable reporting systems to empower our customers in making decisions based on our research.

Sensory Panelists

Eolas International employs a trained sensory expert panel (30) with 1 to 5 years experience in sensory profiling foods and beverages across product categories.
